- 身为LinkinPark的Rapper的MikeShinoda，将化名为FortMinor（FM），在05年11月22日推出他的首张个人革命性专辑《TheRisingTied》。有的地方说MikeShinoda改名似乎有点不太恰当，其实只是他以个人的名义，组成这支名为“FM”的乐队，当然,他也不是单打独斗,这首张专辑是以团体的名义发行的。炮制出他个人理想中的Music。他选择了这个名字是为了表现反差的两个事物间的活力：强大VS渺小。
“叫做fortminor而不是用我的名字是因为还有人参与了这个项目。但我只想和家人和朋友一起工作，那些我感觉亲切，可以志同道合的人。除了那之外，fort有好战的意思，而micor在音乐上是更小、更暗、更悲伤的调子，这个名字反映了音乐。”
虽然是作为“LinkinPark”的一个分支，但FM的音乐则完全是另一回事。其实在组建LinkinPark乐队以前，MikeShinoda就自己制作了一些说唱的歌曲和旋律。近日，在“联合公园”的Blog上，Mike介绍了他这张专辑的风格：“这张专辑不完全是Hip-Hop，也不单纯是摇滚作品，我会演奏所有的乐器，并找来很厉害的MC（负责Rap的DJ）来合作。”而日前华纳唱片也公布了这张专辑的制作阵容，包括芝加哥地下知名饶舌歌手Common（凡夫俗子）、Hip-Hop经典团体TheRoots（扎根合唱团）的成员BlackThought、加州另类饶舌组合StylesofBeyond等人。该专辑的首支单曲《BelieveMe》已于11月初开始在全球曝光，这首以剧烈跳动的拍子为基底的歌曲，伴随大提琴的低音并注入拉丁节奏，让人热血沸腾。
